RED ARROWS LAUNCH SMOKE-FREE CAMPAIGN

The Red Arrows started Lincolnshire's Smokefree campaign in breathtaking fashion on 8 February.  In the build-up to No Smoking Day, The Red Arrows, in partnership with SmokeFree Lincs Alliance, hosted a launch event at RAF Scampton on Friday 8 February.  This was supported by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue and Lincoln City Football Club.

This year's Red 3, Flight Lieutenant Mike Ling, joined a special photoshoot; he's the only one of the nine pilots who currently smokes, and he is aiming to quit on No Smoking Day. The four Red Arrows of Gypo formation flew over the RAF Scampton trailing red and white smoke, the colours of the No Smoking Day campaign.

Photograph and interview opportunities were available at RAF Scampton from 12.30pm.  As well as the Red Arrows, also present were Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service, Smokefree Lincs Alliance, Lincoln City FC, No Smoking Day and a cigarette suit character.
