NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming was first developed in California in the mid 70's and has been continually developed by many people since . NLP has many definitions such as "modelling excellence", "personal freedom" or even "the study of the structure of subjective experience". A more meaningful way to think of NLP is as a collection of psychological and linguistic approaches that form a model of human experience. NLP can be of considerable use in dealing with certain problems because it has some unique integrated approaches. In this way it forms part of what is called rapid therapy. The composition of NLP ranges right across the field of psychology but is particularly indebted to Gestalt psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and Family Therapy techniques.
