Counselling seeks to help people by providing a safe environment to discuss personal issues. Many people feel that they have issues and difficulties that they can't express for one reason or another and so bottle up their feelings. Coming into counselling provides them with a non-judgemental environment that can help them come to terms with issues, work over problems or just be listened to. The aim is to assist in many areas including self-realisation / understanding / planning / coping / dealing with loss and bereavement etc and is as individual as each client.

Although many counsellors practise in one particular psychological discipline i.e. Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, etc my work covers an eclectic range of disciplines. Certain approaches are more suitable to certain individuals or certain problems. Good psychotherapy adapts itself to the client rather than adapting the client to a particular "therapeutic model".

Sessions are strictly confidential and adhere to the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) code of ethics.
