You can have a better life!

These days, we all have many pressures in our lives, at home and at work, and these often affect the choices we make. It can be, that sometimes, we become "stuck" in situations unable to resolve difficulties or overcome our own habits and life patterns. This can eventually lead to stress both mentally and physically. Very often we don't know what we can do to change any of these.

It may surprise you to know that in most cases things can change and for the better. Now, that can often be difficult to see when you're "stuck" with a problem / situation / habit etc, but it is actually true that your life can be better.

I see many people that have come to a "stuck" point in their lives, they may have problems with stopping smoking or have a  phobia or fear, may be over-anxious or suffer from panic attacks. In fact there are many varied reasons why people have chosen to use hypnotherapy, NLP and counselling to help them overcome limiting situations.

Working with people through Creative Visualisation, Hypnotherapy, NLP and Counselling, can bring about these changes. The combination of using these skills and techniques appropriately has shown itself to be of tremendous value in helping with many difficulties.

Why Counselling ?

Counselling seeks to enable you to talk over issues and problems you may have in a supportive environment, it allows you to be listened to and you and your issues recognised. Sessions are confidential and aimed at working alongside you in order to assist you in dealing with your concerns / feelings etc. This is a completely non-judgemental environment where you can feel free to express openly. Counselling session involves the use of different therapeutic approaches to assist you as an individual in the most appropriate way.

What is Hypnotherapy ?

Hypnotherapy is a powerful way to put you in touch with resources and experiences within yourself. These may be used to promote life changes or overcome personal limitations. Many people are concerned about hypnosis, fearing a loss of control or being made to act against one's will. This is understandable although it is in fact a misconception. During a hypnotherapy session you are in control and are able to go just as deeply into hypnosis as suits you best and you will take from the session only what you need for your own wellbeing.

and NLP... ?

NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is the technology of personal communication and excellence modelling. Its clinical application is used alongside Hypnotherapy for fast and effective therapeutic change. NLP is very effective in helping with certain problems e.g. panic attacks, phobias etc and its careful, clinical use can provide very fast results. NLP is founded on some of the most effective techniques known in psychology and is an ever-expanding field.

What sort of things can Counselling & Hypnotherapy help with ?

Loneliness                           Confidence
Depression                           Insomnia
Anxiety                                 Performance enhancement
Bereavement                      Giving up smoking
Loss of direction               Phobic responses
Painful relationships     Addictions
Habit control                     Stress
Examination nerves       Study and Memory enhancement

And many other issues and problems

How long does it take, and what's the cost ?

An initial consultation is free and takes about 30 minutes. During that time you can explain your issues or problems and we can decide together on approximately how many sessions would be of benefit. Obviously the time it takes to deal with an issue or problem varies from person to person. Some issues will require multiple sessions whilst others may be completed in just a few. Giving up smoking for instance is usually dealt with in 3 sessions or less.

Sessions are normally between 60 and 90 minutes in length but may be anything up to 2 hours long. This means if you have a lot of things to discuss you can do so without fear of any additional charges for extra time.

  • After the free initial consultation, sessions are charged at £60 each

Tell me more about the practice

I am trained in clinical hypnotherapy and counselling from a leading UK training college. All my work is clinically supervised and as a therapist I am committed to further ongoing training. I am registered with the Hypnotherapy Association, and the General Hypnotherapy Register (Government official hypnotherapy register)

Why use me to facilitate these changes ?

Many "quick fix" hypnotherapists offer one-off sessions like "quit smoking in one hour".
It may be that some people do quit smoking in one hour, but for how long? What else happened, did this fix their problems or did it make them worse? To be fair we probably don't know! These types of services offer no reliable statistics of success, as they seldom follow up their clients to check on their progress.

To do real personal work, needs a much more personalised approach. This is more detailed than most "quick fix" therapists' sessions and also is considerably cheaper than the high price tag of many of them. "Smoking cessation", for example, would generally be completed in 3 sessions. This really allows us to deal with all nuances of the habit, and the cost of all 3 sessions is likely to be less than the "Stop in one hour" therapist.
