Drove Lea Farm Caravan and Camping Site
Hi There –Friends Old and New
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about our camp site and introduce you to our new Web site.
www.droveleacaravans.co.uk
Drove Lea Farm is a quiet, family run site that nestles in the beautiful Meon Valley within the conservation area of Titchfield Abbey, just to the north of the picturesque village of Titchfield. Drove Lea is situated in 8 acres of level and part wooded farmland that is dedicated to camping. We are open from the beginning of February through to the end of November. The site has electric hook ups in both fields and the usual fresh water and chemical disposal facilities - but you will need your own toilet.
We are within easy walking distance of the ‘Fisherman’s Rest’, a traditional country pub serving delicious food at reasonable prices, with log fires and pleasant outside seating areas. Also within walking distance are :- historic Titchfield Abbey; The Tythe Barn –which hosts a summer season of Shakespeare; fishing lakes; well-stocked garden centres, a ‘pay as you play’ golf course; and finally, the charming village of Titchfield. From the seventh century St. Peter’s Church in Titchfield, a walk of approximately four miles will take you along the banks of the river Meon to the coast at Meon Shore, passing Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve. We have maps and books, which you are welcome to use, showing walks and cycle rides in the area.
Drove Lea is ideally situated for easy access to the South Coast, with clean beaches and a variety of water sports, for the more energetic. Both Portsmouth, the flagship of Maritime England with the Spinnaker Tower and Gunwarf Quays, and Southampton with West Quay, are within half an hours drive, as is the New Forest and the unspoilt Cathedral City of Winchester, former seat of King Alfred the Great. Drove Lea provides an ideal stopover for the continent and the Isle of Wight, with quick and easy access to the M27; both ports of Portsmouth and Southampton are only 20 minutes drive. Click on our website for a taste of the local area.
With a separate 4 acre rally field, Drove Lea is the ideal choice for that quiet break, weekend rally or temporary Holiday Site. This has been an exciting year for us at Drove Lea Farm Caravan and Camping Site; at last we have our own license to hold rallies during the holiday periods; which means that Rally Officers won’t have the hassle of applying for planning permission for longer periods.
