a) Draw walls both cavity and single skin walls in 2D plan form.
b) Insert openings, windows or doors into these walls
c) Controlls dimensions and text.
e) Insertions some basic domestic fittings WCs sinks etc.
f) Quickly insert drawing sheets of various scales.
q) Reference brick dimensions and insert using direction buttons.
h) Operate layers and overlays from menus
There are help slides on each menu and a help file to explain more details.
These are all contained in a series of menu bars that can be
quickly loaded by instructions in the accompanying readme file.
Complete details of all the functions are listed below :----
KEC architectural for AutoCAD LT
Below are the menu bars that are used by KEC in Autocad. Select Menu Bar to go to a fill list of the menu bars functions. There are six main menu bars. In addition to these there are Quick Keys and Pop Down menus for Brick measurement and Layer functions.

CAVITY WALLS

1. UCS world -
This puts the UCS back to world after insert
function which may change it when used on angled walls.

2. Start cavity walls. - Draws a single poly line
representing the inner face of the cavity wall. This line forms the base line the cavity wall be offset from.
This line in put onto the walls layer. (see note below about changing default layers)

3. Make cavity wall. -
This offsets the above line for the two cavity and external wall line, changing layers as it does so. User has to pick
each offset as it goes along. The standard wall it creates is 140mm inner wall, 100mm cavity 102mm external wall. These can be changed by using customise utility, properties and clicking on this button.

4. Insert window up to 1m wide - This function works in a series of steps. Picking insertion point, entering the width of window, inserting window.

5. Insert window wider than 1m - This function is exactly the came as the above the only difference being the block used for insertion of the window.

6. Insert door opening and frame. - This function works exactly the same as the window above only it places a door opening and frame in the cut opening.

6. Insert door swing. - This inserts the door swing into the above opening. Select the mid point of the frame on the hinge side of the opening, then drag the door swing to size.

7. View KEC help slide anout items in this menu bar.
SINGLE WALLS

Having read the above details for cavity walls, this menu
bar is exactly the same, except the first two buttons insert
single walls with no cavity. BUTTON 1 inserts a wall 140mm
wide (note:- can be change with customise) BUTTON 2 insert a
wall of any entered width.
All other functions work the same see the help slide.
DIMS AND TEXT

1. Set Dim - Setting up all the setting and get a bit of a complex there are so many settings, and you want everyone to use the same settings. This sets up all the variables for dimension and text. Default is dimscale 50 (v useful button)

2. Internal dims. - Sets the dimension settings for internal dimensioning as :- layer INTDIMS, no extension lines, dim text within dim line.

3. External dims. - Sets the dimension settings for external dimensioning as :- layer EXTDIMS, with extension lines, dim text above dim line.

4. Dim scale. - Change the dimension scale by entering the new scale.

5. Arrows - Puts simple arrow with line using two picks only. Stays in this function until canceled. Uses current text height for size of arrow.

6. Multi line text - Moves to layer NOTES and starts multiline text function.

7. Single line text - Moves to layer NOTES and starts single line text function.

12. Help - See what this tool bar can do with this quick reference slide that shows you all elements in menu bar.
SANITARY FITTINGS

Sanitary Fitting. - Inserts standard sanitary fitting symbols on the drawing, places them on the san layer. These fitting are meant as generic, but are in fact Armitage shanks fittings, as listed below.

Help - See what is on KEC Fittings with this quick reference slide that shows you all elements in KEC Fittings.
A1 SHEETS

This is used to insert a Standard Drawing sheet border around a drawing. As allot of people only use model space for drawing in this utility automatically scales the border to the correct plot scale. The box an be edited using the Attedit function on the 8th button. The base drawing sheet can be customized for you own office requirements.
POPDOWN MENUS
LAYERS
This is a quick layer go to and set up function. Using the most general layers for straight plan production,
and the ones used with KEC, it allows the user to go straight to a layer with a single pick. If the layer does not exist
this function creates it first.
OVERLAY
This function is for people who use overlays to draw there plans. This technique allows a single bas drawing to be use
for several working drawing. The difference with this menu is that when a layer is selected, all the other layers on
the menu list are switched off. To demonstrate this open the small drawing called Overlay-test.dwg, then use the menu and
watch how the layers are switched on and off. Very useful if you use overlays.
BRICK DIMS
The brick dimension table gives a quick way to find brick grid distances. These are arranges in two sets, brick openings
and brick columns. Openings are brick totals plus a joint thickness of 10mm. Brick columns are brick totals minus 10mm.
The distances are to the nearest half brick and dimensions rounded down to the nearest mm.
KEC LT (architectural)
To install KEC download the LT-kec-acad-2000.zip into your AutoCAD main directory.
Then from file manager click on this file to open it, you will need a Zip utility loaded to do this, extract all the files into your Autocad directory.
One of these files is a read me file called LT-KEC-readme.txt. This file gives all the details for instilation. You can see typical instructions for installing by looking at the autocad part of this site
