What are the KEC Utilities.
KEC is a series of autolisp programs or routines that can be
added to Autocad to allow extra improved drawing capacity
to the basic Autocad.
Some of these items are things not found elseware like
Easy Section, others like KEC are a cut down AEC type program.
These are not rubbish little offerings they are full programs that are being used in commercial offices.
In fact within the routines on offer here there are 227 different functions. They all operate on Acad v14 and Acad 2000. (if you find they work on later versions please let me know). They have new windows help files and detailed instillation instructions, all have an uninstall.
The only limitation is that they all operate only in 2D.
There are seven Packages of Utilities here at the moment plus Kcar which thinly disguises its self as a utility but is a game playable in Autocad.

KEC (architectural)

Written by request for people who did not own the full AEC
a simple 2D subsutute for doing the fallowing :-
a) Builds room and floor layouts and draws external walls.
b) Draw walls both cavity and single skin walls in 2D plan form.
c) Insert openings, windows or doors into these walls
d) Assist with drawing out surveys from survey notes.
e) Insertions some basic domestic fittings WCs sinks etc.
f) Quickly insert drawing sheets of various scales.
q) Reference brick dimensions and insert using direction buttons.
h) Operate layers and overlays from menus
There are help slides on each menu and a help file to explain more details.
These are all contained in a series of menu bars that can be
quickly loaded by instructions in the accompanying readme file.

Easy Section 2000 (architectural)
Easy section Menu Bar
This updated version of Easy Section can be used by AutoCad users of both version 14 and version 2000. Simply select the corrrect menu for your version of Autocad.
The object of Easy Section is to enable architects, builders and designers using AutoCad, to produce very complex sectional drawings, very quickly and efficiently.
Easy Section is a large collection of routines for drawing sections of basic traditional buildings. The system is very accurate, so sections produced can be used at any scale from 1:50 to 1:5.
Accessed through icon menus and is relative easy to understand and use.
It can do the following:-
(1) Draw single or cavity walls with user sizes.
(2) Inset openings doors windows lintels and fittings into these walls.
(3) Create foundations, rafts, floor slabs, timber floors, concrete beam floors.
(4) Draw a complete trussed roof with tiles (selected) timbers insulation and gutters.
(5) Has a library of components for inserting beams, tiles, steel, blocks, bricks etc.
(6) Drains and drainage details, fitting connections, manholes etc.
(7) Junctions, metal roof, flat roof, DPM etc.
(8) There is also a quick reference table for brick heights. (European)
All the items are accessed through pop down menu or an icon bar, All menus can be quickly loaded by instructions in the accompanying install file.(also on the help file accessed from menu)

Ksurvey

The package KEC above also includes this addational package.
This one is to aid the production of external works drawings and is simply a series of functions I have written to help this process.
This is not is comprensive package. These items I have found the need to write simply to save myself work. Its an odd collection but usefull.
This helps in the drawing out of surveys from site notes, helps with drawing contor lines and placing spot levels.
It also has functions for placing headges and fences on drawing, also diferent sizes and types of trees. There is also a simple north point.
There are help slides on the menu to see what is available.

Kcar
Has anyone actually tried this yet ????
The best game on Autocad
Kcar was initially designed as an idea to move a car around
road layouts, so I had to find out if it would work. It did and
this is the result.
Kcar has two modes, tracking mode and game mode. The tracking
mode was devised to test road layouts to see if they worked correctly.
Having made this very useful function, it was only a small step
(I thought) to convert this into a small fun game. Possibly the
best game on AutoCad. (possibly the only game on AutoCad)

Karrow
Karrow is the most usefull utility I have written. Although
very simple it is one the most used buttons on the system.
All Karrow does is place a arrow on the drawing starting at
the arrow head and ending at the end of the line attaced
to the arrow head, all as a single entity.
Easy Elevation 2000 (architectural)
Easy Elevation Menu Bar
Easy Elevation is the easiest of all the KEC suite of functions to use.
It simply draws parts of elevations automatically, the users giving the size or distance. The items drawn are all items you need for standard elevations. These are windows, doors, cills heads, brick banding, REPs, flashing, chimneys, verge tiles and dental courses, etc. It consists of a series of pop up icon windows each displaying a series of objects each with a title and icon of the item to be inserted into the drawing. You simply pick the insertion point and enter the size required.All these items are drawn into the drawing so can be modified as required because all the elements are all lines. There are a few exceptions to this but not many.
There are six pop up windows each with up to twenty items. These are:-
1. Windows, window cills and window heads, bricked up opening.
2. Single Internal doors nineteen different types to chose from.
3. Single External doors as above bit without architrave's.
4. Double doors Internal again nineteen to choose from.
5. Double doors External again as above bit without architrave's.
6. Bits and Bobs twelve items, RWPs, chimneys, banding, flashing etc.
with room for seven more but could not think of anything else.

Kutils 4
KUTILS 4 is a collections of usefull buttons that just make lide easer. Although
very simple brings togather a series of commands to the single click.
There are two mwnubars and a popdown menus.
The first of these brings togather text, dimention and layer functions not found under Autocad.It also has
using the popdown menu, functions that make paperspace scaling a simple click option.
The second is a series of snap options that allow you to change snap combination quickly on the fly.

KDOOR SCHEDULE
KDoor schedule is a quick and easy way to create large door schedules.
There are two mwnubars and a popdown menus.
Using menubars doors are briken down into standard types, these can be inserted into the schedule with one
simple click. All the items can be edited as requied. Although not fully comprehensive it is designed for most
average building and has been used and large school and public buildings.
