Using This Manual

In writing this manual, I have on occasion used a dot matrix truetype font to emulate the look of the R20's screen. This allows me to use html to lay out graphical examples thus giving three distinct advantages

  • I don't have to create a new graphic for each example

  • File size is smaller so refresh times are shorter

  • The graphics are perfectly crisp and not compressed in any way

Many computers will not have this font installed so in order to give your manual that authentic look, follow the instructions at the bottom of this page.
You can determine if your computer has a suitable font by the comparison below
Graphic

If you've got the font installed, both these examples should look pretty much the same

If the above examples look different, follow these steps

Download LCD Display Grid

download font
Open Fonts in Control Panel.
On the File menu, click Install New Font.
In Drives, click the drive where you downloaded the font
In Folders, double-click the folder where you downloaded and saved LCD2.ttf
To add LCD2.ttf, click on it and then click OK.

 Notes

  • To open Fonts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Appearance and Themes. Under See Also, click Fonts.

  • You can also drag TrueType, fonts from another location to add them to the Fonts folder. This works only if the font is not already in the Fonts folder.

Confirmation Bleeps

I make frequent mention to confirmation bleeps in this manual. Of course you will not hear these bleeps if they are either switched off or turned right down. I suggest that you keep bleeps enabled whilst you are learning to operate the R20. They can be very informative
