Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1949.

The Wireless Telegraphy Act was brought about just after the second world war.
In essence, the Act says that it is illegal to listen to messages to which you are not the intended recipient.
It does not prohibit the use, ownership or installation of a scanner or general coverage receiver.
