I began to construct this website in 1892 shortly before this photographic image was taken on my Motorola Razr V3. The internet was of course in black and white in those days.

Yours truly is the beardy wierdy on the left.

I remember this proud moment well, seems like only yesterday.

Henceforth, I have been most fortunate in acquiring a rather super wireless set which goes under the name of the Icom IC-R20, and in the fullness of time, a spectacular three valve apparatus by the name of the Uniden UBC3500XLT. As recently as 1902, a rather rambunctious apparatus manufactured from far away shores under the name of the Icom IC-F2010 had fallen into my possession. Good fortune prevailed and I was able to acquire yet one more of these sets and in addition, some very fine examples of the VHF IC-F1010, three in number. Most recently yet, I have been able to secure a jolly fine example of the IC-2610. I feel it behooves me to publish matters of the operational procedures of both of these wireless sets for the further interest of all fellow wireless enthusiasts.

Over the years, I've gathered a fair amount of knowledge about how to get the best out of a scanner and how to get the maximum enjoyment from the hobby of 'Short Wave Listening'

It's easy to overlook this and to forget just how much information has to be taken on board when you're just setting out in the hobby. I've put together a few words of advice which I hope the beginner may find useful.

I think one must agree, this apparatus is one of the most satisfactory equipments one might purchase. It's delight lies in it's sheer scope and functionality. My good friends, I present to you with the greatest pleasure, the Icom IC-R20.
