Judges Criteria

A1 LIST

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award C.C.'s in the breed and have completed their first appointment.To have the support of the BAHC

A2 LIST

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 List and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the BAHC (K.C. Policy)

A3 LIST (BREED SPECIALIST)

1.    Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the BAHC (K.C.Policy)
2.   To have judged a 10 class breed club open show.
3.   To have judged a minimum of 200 Afghan Hounds present with 30 dogs present at one show.
4.   To have judged a minimum of 75 classes of Afghan Hounds after passing a recognised breed club examination/assessment.
5.   To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club regulations and judging procedures. (K.C. Policy as of 1.7.2001)
6.   To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer on conformation and movement (K.C. Policy as of 1.7.2001)
7.   To have attended and passes a Hands-on Assessment delivered by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on conformation and movement (KC Policy 1.7.2005)
8.   To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
9.   To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club stud book (save in exceptional circumstances) (K.C. Policy)
10. To have stewarded at 12 shows (K.C. Policy)

A3 LIST (NON SPECIALIST)

1.    Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years judging Afghan Hounds) and have the support of the BAHC (K.C. Policy)
2.   To have judged at a 10 class breed club open show.
3.   To have judged a minimum of 75 classes of Afghan Hounds after passing a recognised Afghan Hound breed club examination assessment
4.   To have judged a minimum of 200 Afghan Hounds present with 30 dogs present at one show.
5.   To have awarded C.C.'s in at least one other breed (K.C. Policy)
6.   To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
7.   To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club stud book.
8.   To have stewarded at 12 shows. (KC policy)

B LIST (BREED SPECIALIST) (for judging the breed at open shows)

1.    To have 8 years experience owning and exhibiting an Afghan Hound and have the support of BAHC.
2.   To have attended three breed specific judging seminars with hands on training sessions.
3.   To have passed a recognised breed club examination/assessment.
4.   To have judged 30 classes of Afghan Hounds at open shows.
5.   To have judged a minimum of 75 Afghan Hounds present.
6.   To have stewarded at least 20 classes of any breed.

B LIST NON-SPECIALIST

1.   To have a minimum of 5 years judging experience in any one breed and have the support of the BAHC
2.   To have attended three breed specific judging seminars with hands on training sessions.
3.   To have passed a recognised breed club examination/assessment.
4.   To have judged 30 classes of Afghan Hounds at open shows.
5.   To have judged a minimum of 75 Afghan Hounds present.
6.   To have stewarded at least 20 classes of any breed.

C LIST (BREED SPECIALIST) (For judging the breed up to 3 classes at open shows)

1.   For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the BAHC.

C LIST (NON BREED SPECIALIST)

1.   For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the BAHC.

Except in the instances of K.C. Policy, inclusion on any list is at the discretion of the relevant committee of the Birmingham Afghan Hound Club.
