Chairman Comments On behalf of the officers and committee I would like to welcome you to the Birmingham Afghan Hound Club web site. The club was founded in the early seventies by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated group of affie owners who wanted to provide something more than just show training for its members. The club held meetings every two weeks offering a variety of activities and events. Film shows by breed specialists, talks by veterinary experts, seminars for prospective judges and examinations, all for the affie owners as well as show and obedience training for the dogs. Unfortunately due to the lack of attendance the club nights were eventually cancelled. The club was granted its first championship show in 1985 by the Kennel Club, and this year is our twenty first. See the Shows page for further details. We hope you find our web site of some interest and if you have any comments or suggestions for the club or you would like any further information please contact one of the officers or a committee member.
