FTER
being captured individually the PC'S find themselves on a pirate slave
ship bound for Gaia knows, if they manage to survive they can only hope
to look forward to a short life of servitude. Mysteriously the ship
is struck by an unknown force smashing a hole in the starboard side,
the ship takes on water, but luckily rests on a sandbar only a few feet
below. The PC's are doubly lucky in that one of the stabples holding
the chain that runs through their leg manacles has been loosened in
the impact. Their only task now is to swim the mile or so through shark
infested waters to the strange island that hey can see clearly through
the side of the ship.
HE
majority of this scenario takes place on an uncharted island inhabited
by a tribe of pygmy cannibals. The pygmy shaman of the tribe have handed
down through oral tradition, a water elemental summoning spell. However,
over the 300 years since this spell was taught to the first shaman the
spell delivery has become warped. The current pygmy shaman can now only
succeed in summoning an unbound elemental, who is enraged and attacks
the first thing that he sees, namely any ships passing on the horizon,
hence the mysterious force.
The PC's are faced
with some distinct problems:
1. Day to day survival in an unfamiliar
ecology.
2. Remaining hidden from both the
surviving slavers who are intent on recapturing their investment and
the pygmies who are intent on catching their next meal.
3. Eventual escape from the island.

HOW THE HOLERS HANDLED IT!
HE
PC's had enough presence of mind to grap their gear before taking a swim
towards the island. When they encountered the pygmies they escaped lightly,
running around the Eastern coast until they discovered a freshwater stream.
They headed for higher ground after much debate and spent a rather comical
evening dealing with the strange flora of the island, namely coconuts
or "milkseed" as they became known.
HEN
roused early the next morning by chanting from th village, the PC's decided
to make for higher ground in order to get a better idea of their surroundings.
avoiding the pygmy trails they manouevered around the island until they
encountered a small group of pygmies, which after a short fight they killed.
Continuing on, they almost stumbled into a group of slavers, but were
alerted to their presence by Yussuf
ibn Ahmed, who had managed to make it ashore, hiding in the trees
near the trail.
ONTINUING
their journey with Yussuf, they arrived at a small clearing in the jungle
the southern edge of which was dominated by a mound with a cave mouth
in the centre of it's flat northern face. On the top of the mound amongst
the trees at the edge of the jungle sat a huge carved stone idol. Suddenly,
they were alerted by the approaching sound of a large group of pygmies
heading up the trail towards them. They decided to make a run for it into
the cave. Inside they discovered a rock fall at the rear of the cave which
had covered a small tunnel. The sounds of running water could be heard
from the cave, once they'd cleared the rock fall they decided to traverse
the steep tunnel. This proved far too treacherous for Sathlan,
Klelithen & Moltok
who slipped, fell and slid down the length of the tunnel over a waterfall
into a huge water filled cavern.
HE
rest of the party managed to crawl their way down the tunnel discovering
a hidden cave. In the cave they found a calcified human corpse clutching
a book, and resting on the cave floor next to it a small brass flask.
Several attempts were made to rest the book from the calcified grip of
it's last owner, but to no avail, so Golin
chopped of the corpses hands. they then continued their back-breaking
subterranean excursion, eventually exiting the tunnel atthe ledge over
the water fall.
EANWHILE,
the other half of the party had, after a short interlude climbing the
cavern face to examine the remains of a boat and the subsequent mishap
on the way down (robes do that though don't they though!!), long since
left the cavern heading for the beach on the southern side of the small
cove. By the time they had reached the beach and looked back they could
see some figures in the cavern mouth and although they had a good idea
that it was Golin, Yussuf
and Bluff they decided to press
on up the hill. When they got to the top of the hill they were interrupted
by the arrival of the Pygmy Shaman and his apprentice, who began to cast
their summoning spell. Sathlan
wasted no time and blew them both away (off the top of the cliff) with
a couple of blasting bolts. They then made their way back to the clearing
hiding in the cave in time to receive the pygmy chief and his entourage
from inside the cave, impersonating the pygmy God "The Provider",
Sathlan claiming to be the provider's new Shaman.
ITH
the Pygmies somewhat appeased, the party made plans to leave the island.
It was around this point that Moltok,
who had acquired Golin's pack, decided to open the small flask that had
been found in the inner cave. A great blue cloud issued forth from the
tiny flask, coalescing into the form of a huge eight foot tall sword weilding
humanoid. The creature announced that he was Mabluk, a djinn in the service
of a great mage. The PC's explained that the mage was no longer alive,
Mabluk instantly asked who had released him from the flask, still clutching
the flask Moltok stepped forward. Mabluk proffered his eternal aid as
a servant spirit. Multok's first demand was to "take us home",
However, Multok explained that he didn't know where home was, he was only
familiar with the desert lands, however he would acquire transport and
guide them to Sankahar City, with which he promptly dissapeared. After
he returned carrying a magic carpet and much prevarication as the party
eventually drugged Klelithen they clambered aboard the carpet and headed
off to Sankahar City.
