Since their birth in September 2002, STARRZ have continued to build up their reputation as one of the most hardworking acts in the East Anglia region. The duo have a long history in entertainment. Tonita, with her good looks, long legs and amazing vocal talents was last seen with show band “TEEZER”, while Dave has in the past leant towards a more rockier feel. His earlier ventures took him to Scotland and the Northern Club circuit with show bands “West Point Wonder Boy”, “Amber” and then the more comedic “Zorro” and “Boys Will Be Boys”. It was during these tours of hardcore working men’s clubs that Dave found his aptitude for gaining an unusual rapport with the audiences. By bringing comedy and audience participation into the mix, the band always went down well and this has long since become a hallmark of his success. As lead vocalist with 70’s glam rock band “Those Glam Rockers”, Dave performed to thousands of fans all over England; from clubs and army or airforce bases, to open air festivals and bike rallies. “Those Glam Rockers” certainly did what it said on the tin! A break from performing saw Dave as stage-manager and lighting technician for many theatre shows including Cilla Black, Billy Connolly, Jasper Carrot and The Shadows, all under the watchful eye of Peter Jay at his Royalty Theatre in Great Yarmouth. He was finally tempted back into performing as front man for “The Heavy Metal Kids”, after the untimely death of their vocalist, Gary Holton (Wayne from T.V. series Auf Wiedersehn Pet). Unreleased material still lies in the vault of the late Micky Mosts Rak Studios in London.
