In Ireland, the locations included the Comeragh mountains (Barry's mother's house), Caher Castle, County Tipperary (the Brady family home), Powerscourt (battle scenes), Dublin Castle (the Chevalier's home) Google Earth Link, Waterford and Kilkenny (where Barry meets Captain Potsdorf), County Clare (dance) and Lavenham Guildhall, Suffolk (final scene)

In England, a number of stately homes were used including Wilton, Castle Howard, Corsham Court, Glenum, Petworth, Longleat and Glastonbury Rural Life Museum
