I have written various pieces for the
Maybe Logic Academy magazine, Maybe
Quarterly. I also contribute routinely to the group blog, Only
Maybe, which I helped set up. I have probably written several
thousands of words, contributing to the related forums and online courses
for the MLA.
Falling
on Deaf Ears - a collaboration with an artist and fellow student,
Bobby, relating to what we had learned about Vico's theory of cyclic time
when reading Finnegans Wake.
Time
Piece - my own compilation of material on different ways of
perceiving time - as linear or cyclic, etc.
I
Wouldn't Want to Play Cards with Him - a piece bringing together my
obsessions with randomness, games and cheating, conjuring and the history
of playing cards and Tarot, and printing, and...
Always
Assuming - a deliberately brief piece, about how assumptions can lead us
up the garden path...
God-Free
Zone - my take on Buddhism and a god-free respect for the world
Also a few bits of my own writing that came out of Mick and
me writing to each other. I was quite into film noir (lone white
knight and all that). Like "Suspended Animation"
(we were both desperately poor and 'stuck' - you can tell). And, after a
conversation about Mick's lucid dreaming, I tried to explain how I hardly
ever remember dreams, just shut my eyes, and then open them again hours
later "Coming Round Again". And
"Intimations of Mortality II", about
my early years, getting grounded with archaeology.
