     Julie's page

Ah me, I didn't update this page for years.  Stuff happens. I lost interest in the website a couple of years ago when I started doing online study, and getting involved in various communities and online creative projects, etc. So I'll start from scratch, rather than fiddle with an out-of-date page.

Julie and I have been together for ten years. Julie in Facebookbearded like PKD

She mostly puts up with me calmly, but I can prove very infuriating, I believe.

The house has her touches everywhere, not just in the decoration, and the fittings, etc - but to the stone slabs of the kitchen floor, which she laid a decade ago (before my time here).  I live in a palace. I occupy a living sculpture, with artist-in-residence.  I have never shown any talent at DIY myself.  I got into show biz precisely because I showed no talent/enthusiasm for house painting, or waiting on tables, or working as a short-order chef. I washed dishes OK, but so did George Orwell. My wandering life means I have never stopped to decorate. I try to just adjust to what I find around me.

The garden has changed several times since I arrived, and currently has a pond full of fish, flights of sparrows (my 'pets') and a sun-bathing platform to catch the last rays.  Julie built a veranda, so even on wet days you can sit outside when the weather is warm. Somewhere I collected a pile of pictures of work-in-progress, but hard drives come and hard drives die.  I will work on this page during the next few weeks.

We have had a couple of enjoyable foreign trips (though we don't travel together that much). Paris was fun, and so was Barcelona.

Dandy the labradoodle joined us nearly a couple of years back, and has brightened up our lives.

We have bought a cottage in mid-Wales, (see images on the blog) with a long-term plan to go live in the country. Dandy voted 'yes', although he'll miss his city friends - country dogs are mostly on duty, guarding their yard - and we can't let him play with the sheep (or the ducks, or the goats, or the cows, or the horses, etc)

Still, he loves a good long country walk (he can always chase squirrels and rabbits!
