Inside Jabba - more fun than is really fair...

Stuart Freeborn was the main designer of Jabba the HuttStuart Freeborn

but there was quite a large team of builders, who also helped operate Jabba on the set. John Coppinger who sculpted the beast and operated the eyes by remote control has lots of glimpses of the backstage action on John C being directed by Richard Marquand his fascinating website.

If you want to see Jabba in development, try this part of John's site.  For a lot more detail on the build - read his interview at The Force.net.   Or this one at Baby Fett net HR, me and John C with one last fragment of The Great One (hey look, we almost caught HR smiling!)

It was really nice to meet up with John again after so many years - and to sustain the contact - here's a picture from a visit recently...

And my big thanks also to Michael 'HR' Nielsen (also in picture above) - for his continuing advice and encouragement about conventions - we chat regularly. Go look at HR's great looking website. He's got a wonderful collection of pictures and autographs and cards.

He has also helped me greatly with producing pictures to sign for fans who contact me, something he also does for the 'real' stars. (Few people seem to like this PayPal method - I sold two, so far!)
