Jabba on the Dais

I like this rock tribute

I stuck my link on a Bomis webring dedicated to Jabba - although my impression is that our best days are over, what with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings - and anyway, most people prefer heroes - only a few of us seem to identify with villains! Wouldn't it have been cool to work on ROTJ if David Lynch had directed it

See a graphical expression of this rumour here, also

How cool to find a birthday greeting on Lars' site here (and if you don't speak Danish, this is HR's translation:

A Birthday greeting.

I'm honored to inform that one of the greatest, most famous and best remembered puppeteers to ever have performed Jabba's left arm is turning 57 today.

His name is Toby Philpott, and his father was the first to ever do puppeteering on tv. His mother was an actress.

When he was younger he travelled the world as juggler, magician, fire eater and everything else he could think about
performing.

His job in Return Of The Jedi was to control Jabba's left arm, tongue and body movements.

He now, besides a son, has a huge fan following, and even though he describes his part of the Star Wars saga as being a minor part we should always remember that without people like Toby
Philpott Jabba had never come to life and eaten that frog.

Another birthday page at Toomuchtimeonmyhands (well at least it's honest!), This was originally in Useless Facts Issue 44
I was at the Dark Side Convention in early September, met some great people - see their site here, and I loved Google's translation of the blurb for me: "One can probably call Toby Philpot one, which lets the dolls predominantly dance.
It played a multiplicity of roles in which it into the skin of the characters to usually slip had, e.g. Jabba the hat."
Attakus made 750 large Jabba the Hutt statues, and they sell for, like, $800 - 1200.  I signed one of these in Paris.
My signatures seem to be on sale  for cash £25 (!) here (I have to say these are from my first batch of pictures, and the quality isn't as good as my current ones) - but can simply be traded here See the section of 'From Star Wars to Jedi" about Jabba here on this fantastic site with definitive script breakdowns - www.scenebyscene.net

find out which SW character you are (beware popups, and I got page errors, but hey...)

I liked this spoof interview with a down-and-out Jabba
