Welcome

I am a University qualified experienced Psychologist and Psychotherapist, an Accredited Member of the BACP and a UKRCP Independent Registered Counsellor. I offer a Counselling & Psychotherapy service to anyone, of any age, sex, race, or creed.

Counselling can be a useful and effective means of support in times of stress, crisis, or transitions such as:

* Bereavement & Loss.
* Relationship or Marriage Issues.
* Feeling Low, Anxious or Stressed.
* Births - From the 'Baby Blues' to the 'Terrible Two's’.
* Separation or Divorce.

* Job Change/Economic Shift.
* Panic or Anxiety Attacks.

Psychotherapy can be described as paying attention to one's Soul. The process can be a long and at times, a difficult one, however it aims to help you to understand yourself more deeply. It also can potentially change destructive or problematic feelings or behaviours that seem to have an ongoing negative impact on your life, for example issues like surviving sexual abuse or assault, long term Weight management issues, obsessive or addictive behaviours.

Neither Psychotherapy nor Counselling are advice services. The aim of each is to support you in a non-judgmental, confidential and ethical framework, so that hopefully you might begin to feel differently.

I have regular supervision of my work with a BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor and have over 1000hours of supervised practice.

If you cannot see the issue or issues that you are faced with on the short list above, it doesn’t mean that I cannot work with you!
Whatever is causing your distress I am prepared to listen........

It is my aim as a counsellor that you feel that you have been listened to without judgment, by someone who has been formally trained to Masters Level to do so, using the BACP Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Good Practice. ………..

Hence the name TheProfessionaListener.
