The Tutors

The course is run by Susan Edward and Nigel Keatley. Susan is a cellist who has performed extensively throughout the UK with her various chamber groups. Her teaching experience ranges from children to adults, both as an individual teacher and as a tutor. Apart from chamber music, her passions include vegetable growing and introducing string instruments to the Gers. She has already formed a local orchestra and is building up a supply of local cellists. Nigel has played with many orchestras in the UK, such as RPO, Covent Garden and BBC Welsh and he was leader of the Chanterelle String Quartet. His vast teaching experience includes working with children and young people in his post of head of strings at Bedford School and through his involvement with the Bedfordshire Youth Orchestras. He has given masterclasses and coached chamber music widely throughout the UK, Austria and South Africa.
