Thank you for your interest and recent enquiry
regarding membership of the ‘Austin J40 Pedal Car Club’. I hope the
following letter will explain briefly the aims and functions of the Club. The ‘Austin J40 Pedal Car Club was formed during
1982 to assist and encourage the interest and preservation of the pedal
cars produced at the Bargoed Factory between 1949 and 1971, namely the
Pathfinder and the J40 models. From relatively small beginnings the club has grown
rapidly, and now has a large number of members throughout the A quarterly printed magazine is circulated to
members, giving notice of events, topical comment, technical articles,
historical information, details of spare parts and classified
advertisements. The club does not currently operate a spares operation,
however, several members who advertise in the Club magazine can supply
most if not all your spares requirements. The original colour, date of leaving the factory, and
initial destination of your car can be traced through the chassis number
on the car (often found inside the boot). Regrettably some records have
not been kept, but J40’s with chassis 16001 onwards can be assessed. To join please print off the application form,
complete as fully as possible and send Click here for the application form
