The first SEF annual Xmas Dinner and Hot Wheels Awards ceremony took place at The Plough in Bletchingley on the 1st December. We decided to beat the Christmas rush and book early  - we ended up as the only group in the pub that night and consequently had undivided attention from the staff.

Eight SEF'ers graced the turkey this year and after our first course crackers were pulled, once we'd managed to find TimJ's that is, and suave paper hats worn whilst appalling cracker jokes were told. We then discovered squealing balloons in our party boxes and happily turned red faced attempting to blow them up before igniting the party poppers and covering everyone with thin bits of coloured paper.

With the second course out of the way it was time for the presentation of the first ever Hot Wheels awards. The magnificent trophies were awarded to five lucky SEF members , four of whom were actually here tonight but sadly there was no video link up to Dave Tullet who was in Canada and couldn't be with us.

The Hot Wheels Awards 2003 winners  were  :-

Best Attendance at SEF Meetings  -   Tim Jenner

(He hasn't missed a meeting yet)

Best Adventure with an F - Bob Larcombe

(For the intrepid two continents Cannonball Run Europe)

Maddest Moment with an F - Neil Sutton

(Neil will remember the winding hill outside Broadway !)

Modifications Award - Dave Tullet

(Dave deafened us all with his Cat By Pass on the Tunnel King Tour)

Awards for most Awards - Liz & Tim Morris

(Two Concours, one POO and Two Naviscat wins in 2003)

With the awards over it was time to get stuck in to the Christmas Pudding and coffee and mints whilst reminiscing on the first six months of the South East F'ers and pontificating on the events for next year. Before long the christmas  bells had rung and we ventured off in to another damp Bletchingley night wishing all  Happy Christmas.

Thanks to DaveM, Barry & Sue, TimJ, Bob, Neil and Liz and the staff at The Plough for making it an enjoyable night .

Special thanks to Sue who unexpectedly produced a miracle card at the end of the night which allowed us 25% off the entire meal.
