BROOKLANDS MG DAY Sunday 4th April 2004 |
|
The weather was atrocious the day and night before Brooklands MG Day which may explain the lower than normal turnout at this usually well attended event. As it turned out the weather perked up by the actual show day and we arrived at Brooklands tops down. The pre event meet was cancelled due to lack of numbers - sorry Barrie (who didn't get my e-mail and turned up at Ockham all the way from Southampton to find no one there) but there was consolation in that he got mixed up with a lot of double deckers from the Cobham Bus Museum's Open Day being held on the old Wisley airfield. DaveM and TimM went straight to the museum and Barrie managed to meet up with us later having found his own way the last couple of miles.
There were about 25 Fs at the old racetrack but we had been ejected from our normal position of parking up on the steep slope of Members Banking by the MG Sport and Racing X Power rally team throwing passengers around the steep curve for £20 a time.
As always there were plenty of other MGs to be seen as well as the usual museum exhibits. Of F/TF interest was the 80th Anniversary model on display alongside the SV and ZT 260 on the forecourt of the Shell Petrol Pagoda - a full report can be found on our sister site MG EVENTS REVIEWS with more pictures. |
