Knitted Landscape...
The landscape was exhibited in Bolton town centre for The International Women’s Festival and has also been exhibited at Bolton Arts Studios in Horwich, Horwich Resource Centre, Larmer Tree Festival, Northern Green Gathering, Touchstones Gallery – Rochdale and Solfest. Part of the landscape is on permanent display at the UCAN centre.
The majority of the yarn used in the landscape has been donated by local knitters from their stash or bought from charity shops and the local scrap store, some yarn has been donated via Freecycle, and Rowan Yarns kindly donated some ‘seconds’ yarn to the project. In 2009 the landscape will be exhibited at Turnpike Gallery – Leigh as part of UK DIY, The Bearded Theory festival and for the second time at Larmer Tree Festival in Dorset.
