A difficult water to view and, apart from wintering Goosander and the occasional Smew, has not produced anything of note over the years – possibly because it is not watched regularly. This, along with all the other lakes in the Dorchester complex, is privately owned. Part of the lake can be viewed, at a distance, from the bridge over the A423 and from the Dorchester bypass between the grassy banks and trees – not very satisfactory.
