Phineas Peat
- Born: 1694
- Marriage: (1): Dorothy 1734
- Marriage: (2): Dorothy Wain 1735
- Buried: 1757, Wirksworth
General Notes:
ancestor of Cunningree Fishpond &Wirksworth Peats
Martha Peat, father William Peat, farmer of Cunningree - source Inces Pedigrees. Cunnigree, aka Coney Greave, is almost certainly the farm at Ashleyhay, which is the civil parish next to Alderwasley, and still named on the current 1:25000 OS map. Nearby is Peat Lane, Peat Pits etc, and the farm is next to that called the Fish Pools, aka Fish Ponds, where another branch of Peats used to live. I should definitely discount all references to the Coney Grey near Clay Cross, which is too far away.
Phineas married Dorothy in 1734.
Phineas next married Dorothy Wain in 1735. (Dorothy Wain was buried in 1734.)
