• Baptism, 16 Jun 1805, Strelley, Nottinghamshire, England. Baptised in 1805 and 1809 in IGI, 1851 census indicates 1805 to
be correct.

• Census, 6 Jun 1841, Matlock. Age 34 living at Matlock with wife Ellen (30) and children Mary
(8), George (7), Henry (4) and John (1). Spelt Hickton.

• Census, 30 Mar 1851, Matlock Bath. Age 46 years, living at Matlock Bath with wife Ellen (41) and
children Mary (16), George (15), Henry (13), John (10), Paul
(6), Harriett (5), Ann (3) and Fanny (8m). He was an Ag Lab.
Spelt Hickton.

• Census, 7 Apr 1861, Matlock Bath Dby. Age 50 living at Matlock Bath DBY, with wife Ellen (48) and
children Mary (25), Henry (23), John (10), Paul (16), Harriett
(15) and Thomas (9). He was an Ag Lab.

• Census, 2 Apr 1871, Matlock Bath Dby. Age 65 living at Matlock Bath DBY, with wife Ellen (59) and
unmarried children Mary (34), Paul (24), Thomas (19) and
grandchild Jane (5) daughter of Henry. John was a Labourer.

• Census, 3 Apr 1881, Matlock Dby. Age 76 years, living Matlock DBY, with wife Ellen (69) and
unmarried children Paul (34) and Mary (48). Ellen was a
Laundress, John was blind.

John married Ellen about 1834. (Ellen was born before 1810 in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, England and died before Sep 1891 in Bakewell District, Derbyshire, England.)

  Marriage Notes:

First 2 children were born at Ashover marriage possibly in that
area.
