Photos of Shame

The photos below are testament to a lazy, uncaring, shortsighted Council. They also show that there are
SOME, lazy, bone idle residents and shopowners alike, that blight Redcar.

I've shown the areas and buildings around Redcar Town that would, if renovated or repaired, have a huge impact on the overall appearance of the town.

YOU may have other ideas. If you have let me know.

Here it is, Redcar's worst eyesore. whether the full development goes ahead or not, someone must do something about this building. At the time the image was taken there were several out of town coaches parked in the adjacent car park - this is the first view of Redcar the passengers see.

Silks Night Club Does this place look at all inviting? Teenagers flock to this place on Club nights. Again, would it be too much for the owners to have some pride in their premises and a committment to the townsfolk? How about some of the profits being ploughed back into renovation to show that profit at whatever cost, does not have to be at the detriment of the town.

The property next to Silks is also an eyesore. We see this every day and accept it as normal for our town! This property occupies a prime position on the sea-front. Write to your Council to get these eyesores bull-dozed or tidied up.

Sea-front properties at the Coatham end of town. Visitors entering Redcar from the West see these buildings first!!

Can you imagine such prominent properties in southern seaside towns being left in such a state of disrepair?

It wouldn't happen there, they know the 'tourism value' of maintaining their towns

Las Vegas amusement arcade.

It's been there for over 30 years.

Hitler's Bunker probably looked more inviting! I suppose the takings are not enough (HAHA) to renovate above the property frontage.

I wonder if the owners know there is such a thing as a tin of paint!

As far as maintaining appearances around the town, it is also fair to say that the Council cannot be responsible for everything.

Look at the grass verges here. THEY SHOULD BE GREEN - NOT LOOK LIKE THE SAHARA DESERT!

Lots of local residents constantly erode their own grass verges away by constantly parking on them. Would it not seem logical that they should be responsible for resoiling and regrassing these areas.

Pretty soon, as in other areas on various estates, the Council will 'Tarmac' over these verges. The areas then lose character, the area becomes run down, and all because we have residents who basically DON'T GIVE A DAMN!

Grass seed costs about £1-20 a kilo!

MAKING A DIFFERENCE CAN SOMETIMES BE VERY CHEAP AND ALSO QUITE SIMPLE

This is one we blagged from redcar.net.

Was this junction REALLY designed.

How many light stanchions are there?

To everyone who reads these pages on this website: It does not always need vast amounts of cash spent to make places and buildings accepable.

Sometimes, maybe a new coat of paint is all that's needed. Possibly repair your own fence. Clean up your own mess. Don't drop litter.

Don't empty your car ashtray onto the streets - do it at home. Basically, give a little thought to your property, your boundaries, IN THE MAIN, generally present and nurture a sense of pride in your locale and it's surroundings. THANK YOU.
