How To Clone/Back-up a DVD

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to back-up your DVD's to a DVD-R/W disc.

You will need the following tools:

  • AnyDVD (SHAREWARE) - Click HERE
  • CloneDVD (SHAREWARE) - Click HERE

1st. Open and install and register both programs. Then put the DVD Disk (DVD or PS2 Game) you wish to copy into your DVD/CD drive (Not into the DVD BURNER!!!!)

2nd. Start ANYDVD, you should see an icon appear in the taskbar tray. Double-click it and a screen like this should open.

3rd. Select the REGION of your DVD, or more to the point, select YOUR location in the world...As it is likely the DVD was made for your country... Then click the X to close the window down, don't worry it will be still in the TASKBAR.

4th. Let me take this time to explain what we have done. This program is designed to remove any copyright material or regional codes built into the DVD. Making us able to 'clone' it! It sits 'behind the scenes' unlocking any DVD you put into your DVD drive. Very handy! Especially for cloning!

5th. Now open CLONE DVD and it should look like this.

6th. We will be making an EXACT clone, so select the CLONEDVD middle option, which will take you to a screen like this.

7th. Now click the button top right (Highlighted) and select the DVD from your drive.

8th. You will see the chapters appear, you can un-select somw if you want, but i don't recommend you do, now click NEXT>

9th. Ensure you un-select things like Directors commentary and subtitles (unless your deaf of course) because lets face it...Who sits 2 hours watching a movie with someone talking all the way through it!!

Then press NEXT>

10th. Name your DVD like in the picture and insert your blank DVD-R into your DVD-R burner.

11th. Click GO, and it will now read the disk.

12th. It should take about 30 mins to do this, then it will ask for a BLANK DVD-R to be put in the burner if you haven't already done so.

13th. It will now burn it, and when its done, if all went well it should look like this

14th. And thats it! One cloned DVD to a DVD-R!

Enjoy!
