Congratulations from everyone at the
Rainbow Project to our Chairperson
Annee McCarthy on her well deserved MBE,
given in recognition of her committment
to young people.12th October - 2004
The Project continues to develop its work on homelessness
prevention in Southampton schools and was pleased to deliver
sessions to several schools, reaching hundreds of young people during
the year. Our message to them is always that if home is a safe place
to stay, then it is the best place for them to be.
Our floating support services
continue to be well accessed and this year Iris and First Steps,
the Project's services for lone mothers, amalgamated into one scheme
now known as Iris.
Lighthouse, Rainbow's floating
support service for young people, has broadened its scope to include
support for ex-residents. This streamlining of the services is beneficial
to all, making referrals less complicated for other agencies, simplifying
the process for young people, cutting down on paperwork for Rainbow
staff and improving service delivery.
