Oxford 25th October 2009

At the last meeting I told everyone that when we go on rideouts, the destination is
just an excuse to ride, the important bit is who we ride with and spend time with. Well, today
just proved that I was right !

The weather was glorious, the sun was shining and 12 of us road the 40 odd miles to the Bus museum
with hardly any holdups or red lights.
On arrival we were just walking in when it started to rain.

No problem, coffee shop for Poached egg on toast and a coffee.

And a look at H's backside (or her apple bum as she prefers it to be called)!

Next it was a walk around the museum.

Funny really I don't think I was alone when I thought
'what can be interesting about buses', but pretty soon we were all looking at them and recalling our younger days.
Mick and Geoff talked about when they used to go to school on the Horse Drawn Bus
while, for the rest of us, we recalled the open back ones and in H's case what was known in Reading as 'The Jumbo'.

There were lots of things to look at.

And sit in.....

Including a bus which for some reason Oncle Malc and H really approved of !

You may caption this picture yourself....
I got a slap for voicing mine !

After looking around for a couple of hours

We returned to the coffee shop.
As you can see by H's pained expression, she didn't want to leave.

But leave we did. Some of us for home, and others to The Royal sun in Begbroke
where we enjoyed the best carvery dinner we've had.

If you want to know about this picture, you'll have to ask Oncle Malc.
