4th York City Centre Trophy Race

(Bank Holiday Monday)

York City Council have kindly given permission for a City Centre Race. Courses will take place in the Snickleways and adjacent parkland.

SI Electronic punching will be used.

LOCATION: Use any of the York Park and Ride schemes, and they will drop you off in the City Centre.
Come by train and the start is a short walk from the Station.
Otherwise leave the A64 York bypass and head into the City Centre. Keep going straight on and after 1.8 miles you will join the inner ring road. Various car parks are signposted off the inner ring road and we recommend using the St. John's Street Car Park which is off Lord Mayor's Walk (part of the inner ring road on the NNE side of York between the road out to Helmsley and the one to Scarborough.)
Registration, toilets, Start and Finish will all be situated in the heart of the City in Parliament Street (outside Marks and Spencers). A good road atlas with a street plan of York should show the places mentioned above. See also www.york.gov.uk/parking. There are literally dozens of cafes and pubs within 10 minutes walk of the car park. You can leave clothing bags at the start/finish

COURSES: Electronic punching will be used.
A Men 5.0 km No M16's or under for safety reasons
B Women 5.0 km No W16's or under for safety reasons
C Short Men 2.5 km  
D Short Women 2.5 km  
Men and women under 17 are only allowed on courses C/D for safety reasons. Parents should be aware that even Courses C/D use roads which, while mainly pedestrianised, do have traffic on them (e.g. deliveries and disabled) although this is very much restricted after 11.30. All courses involve navigating through the Snickleways and cobbled streets of York City Centre. All control sites will be manned.

Starts 10:30 to 12:30
Courses close 14:00
Awards Ceremony 14:00 (as near as possible)
MAP: Pre-marked special city centre map at scale 1:5000.

Electronic Punching will be used. A charge of £15 will be made for lost E-cards.
