String Course

Congratulations to Yasmin and Joe Field, who were the only young orienteers to brave the string course in the bad weather conditions, and who managed to complete the course and still keep a smile on their faces.

Planners Comments

Cloughton is a bit of a bizarre shape and this produced a bit of a strange orange course. My options were limited for the shorter courses, so they more or less planned themselves. The more technical courses were great fun - the southern and northern bits of the wood are ideal - hope you enjoyed them. Sorry about the long walk to the start/finish. We could find nowhere nearer to park.

Thanks to everybody for turning out and supporting our event at Cloughton. Sorry about the wet weather, we enjoyed the dry day 24 hours too early.

Organisers Comments

Thanks to unstinting support from the team of 20-odd enthusiastic Eborienteer helpers this event seemed to go well, despite the dreadful weather, the muddy car park field and the 20 minute (?) walk to the start. Special thanks to Fountain Forestry for access to the W woods, Piers Turner for the car park field and Russell Brooke of Brian Thompson Contractors for the use of the Sawmill. Thanks for supporting our event. I hope to do a better job of organising a bright sunny day next time.
