Note all entries to Steve Willis, this month, and note new address.
What a superb area! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed planning the event in this area 3 years ago when we started from Pocklington. Dave and John did an excellent job of planning the course and their decision to start at Thixendale split everyone up immediately with 6 valleys to choose from.
Sorry about the location of the car park. It was the only suitable field we could find and we didn't want to block up the village high street with cars. The weather was perfect, the scenery was superb, the tracks were dry and the controls were in the right place and all worked. Geoff Moorhouse did an excellent job standing in for Dave and Sue; and the helpers were their usual cheerful selves. It was a pleasure to organise and compete.
Congratulations to Nathan Wilson who won the A class as he is only just a senior!! Andy Conn was saving himself for Braithwaite - although there were a few riders who competed in both events!! There are some new names leading some categories after 3 events so it will be interesting to see if the favourites can catch up!! Well done to Tim Moorhouse (A), John Collingwood (C), John Ashton (E), Frank and Jess Appleton (G) and Paul Duncan and Ruth Greenwood (X).
The next league event is at Cropton Forest on Saturday 4th June. There is also a FootO starting at 10 on the Saturday morning with prizes for combined winners and Spiers House is an excellent campsite to spend the weekend if you fancy a social ride on the Moors on Sunday morning.
Sue Adams will be back from holiday before then so please send your entries to her again. If you are emailing don't forget to include your Class, Full Name, Town, TCA (and SI) numbers.
The details, results and split times of all our MBO events are on the TCA, Ebor and Clok web pages as well as a copy of the Summer MBO Treasure hunts which start on Wednesday 18th May at Biggin near Selby. If you haven't pre-entered by lunch time then you may need to copy down the course onto your own map because I have had to guess how many will turn up!!
