You will need the following
equipment; a two quid bbq &
something to stand it on,
a sharp knife, a chopping board, some wooden
skewers, a pastry brush, a tin opener & a box of matches.
Ingredients; Chicken fillets, a
couple of peppers, a couple of
tomatoes,
tomato sauce, marmalade, butter & tabasco sauce.
Oh,
& a tin of cat food - preferabley "Felix".

Start by lighting the bbq,
it's going to take about 20 minutes for
this to get to a useful temperature to cook on
& it takes just that
time to make the kebabs & the marinade.
Open the tin & chuck away the Felix - revolting,
now put a nice
big blob of butter into the bottom of the tin & put it straight
onto the bbq.
Add a similar sized blob of marmalade & the same
again of tomato sauce.
Stir it up a bit & add a few drops of the
tobasco sauce.
Watch for it starting to bubble, stir it again &
take it off the heat.
Start cutting the chicken up into
pieces about 1 inch by ½
inch,
do the same with the peppers & cut the tomatoes into eighths.
Start threading alternate bits of chicken & salad onto TWO skewers
- use two, because salad doesn't like being bbq'd & will keep
trying to roll to the bottom & play dead
- if you've got it on two,
it has no choice,
it has to turn when you ask it.

By the time you've threaded all
that lot the BBQ should be just
about ready to use.
Lay the kebabs onto the grill & baste well.
They'll take between about 15 & 20 minutes to cook,
keep turning
& keep basting,
remember that the marinade has got a lot of sugar
in it, so don't worry too much about bits going a bit black.
When it looks about done, lay some
pitta breads on top of the
kebabs,
just long enough for them to warm through.
Split the pittas,
fill with the meat & salad & serve with lashings of cole slaw.
