E. camperstratus is one of the more docile species, it does have urticating hairs, but rarely kicks them. This species will adopt an artificial burrow, such as half a flowerpot, but will dig a burrow if given deep enough substrate. A shallow water dish should be supplied. I feed it on medium to large crickets, 2 or 3, once or twice a week. This is an excellent species for the beginner tarantula keeper
