After Being discharged from the army in 1958 I found life very hard to settle down back into civilian life again, but I must admit it was nice to be my own boss once again, this all changed though quickly because it was not long after that when I met my wife Brenda, it being love at first sight we married in December 1959.
We both quickly settled down to raising our family, not much time for hobbies due to the long hours I was working in order to bring home a decent wage for us all to live.
I first got interested in tropical fish keeping and was a founder member of the Mansfield Maun Society Tropical Fish Keeping Club were I used to show and exhibit my fish, to this day I still am fascinated when I see any tropical fish and would dearly love to re-start another aquarium but it will not happen because the only reason I gave the hobby up then as is now in order to be successful an awful lot of time is needed time I did not have then and time I have not now.
