This year we are exploring modern philosophy and its practical application. Topics will be introduced by volunteers and group discussion will follow.

We enjoy discussing the various approaches used to study Human Psychology, and we will continue our examination of the main topics, taking a more specific look at some of those that interest us. There is plenty of time for discussion and interaction.

Social Anthropology is the study of humankind. We will discover things about ourselves and our attitudes, whilst experiencing an understanding of other cultures. This year we will carry on relating Social Anthropology to, for example, food, tourism, religion, medicine, cultural practices and everyday life.

We have an on-going programme of sociological topics, some of which we will re-visit as circumstances change. Among those we aim to look at this year are Legal Drugs (including alcohol and tobacco), Town and Country, and Middle Class Crime.

This course traces the evolution of human spiritual consciousness from the earliest appearance of human beings to the present day and beyond, aiming to understand the various spiritual strands now in evidence. Course book Up from Eden by Ken Wilber, available from www.amazon.co.uk.
