If you already have a website that's misbehaving or is in need of some reconditioning, a make-over, or even a complete overhaul, talk to us. We should either be able to remedy the problems or be able to advise you of a practical course of action to get things in-line with what you need.

General advice:
  1. If you haven't done it yet, we really do recommend that you register your company's domain name - that's the 'www.yourcompanyname.com'. Long, complex, 'free names' are next to useless as they are difficult to remember. It gets harder to find original names every day as a domain name gets registered every 2 seconds! Some (very annoying) people book useful names just to sell them on at a drastically inflated price. It makes little difference to them if you don't buy it from them - as it costs them next to nothing to register and hold each name until someone who can afford it comes along. Book it yourself! Check to see if your domain name is still available.

  2. If you don't have a website yet and would like to know more about the process of getting yourself online, read our handy 'step by step guide to getting online'.

  3. If you already have a website VISIT IT YOURSELF! Pretend that you are a potential client who has never visited your site before. Ask yourself:
    •  Does the site have the information I need?
    •  Can I get to the information I want quickly and easily?
    •  Do the pages load before I get frustrated?
    •  Does this site look like it represents a quality company?
    •  Would I want to do business with these people?

A ask friends and colleagues to do the same and give you feedback. If even one question is answered with a definitive"no" you should seriously consider action to remedy the no(s).

  4. If you realise that you need a new site, figure out what your new site should do, what you want it to achieve, and what you wish it could do.

  5. Shop around for a quality designer who really knows their medium. Ask to see their portfolio - that's where the proof of their ability is. Get all the reassurance you can that they are up to the job.

  6. Talk with them about what they can do for you, and what you have already that can be recycled to reduce costs.

  7. Remember, cheap is not always a bargain, and expensive may be just over priced. Common sense is an undervalued commodity, so don't be afraid to use it when hunting for web services.
