It's official The Flying Squad are the No 1 Multi Line Team in Europe.

STACK European Champions Pairs & Team 2001

STACK UK Champions (Team) 2000, (Individual, Pairs & Team) 2001.

New in 2001. The Flying Squad have again provided audiences with unmatched quality and professionalism in kite displays. From major International events such as The Bristol International Balloon festival & kites festivals in Europe and America the squad has been able to expand in 2001.

In the UK squad members competed in Individual, Pair and Team disciplines for the UK National titles. Stephen Hoath has ended the year as a triple UK Champion with a never before achieved feat of winning all 3 titles in a single year. Second place in Individual goes to Steve Matchett who flew with Stephen in Pairs. The pair is then joined by Simon Dann to form The Flying Squad (team), which retained it's Team UK Championship. Simon also won the STACK UK Rokakkau Championship, with Stephen Hoath in Second and Steve Matchett in third.

This mirrors the success of all 3 in the STACK UK League Championships, 1st & 2nd in both Pairs and Individual.

So with the Demonstration and Competition fields well covered this only leaves the Judging side. With the squad containing 2 ex UK National Head judges it was good to see Susan Hoath benefiting from several years of working with the Worlds best flyers. Her extensive experience has proven very valuable to the Squad. Now she has come to the fore having been invited to Judge in Finland and she will be judging the European Championships in 2001.

During 2000, we the The Flying Squad were able to consolidate our position as World leaders in innovating of kite demonstrations. We were able to show the World the first combined Dual Line & Multi line choreographed ballet routine. For 2001 we have added some more experienced team members, they are being trained ready to take the field as part of The Flying Squad. In 2001 you will see us at festivals and events around Europe, where we will be using some NEW kites so look out for The Flying Squad near you soon.
