The Area

Costa Calida

The Costa Calida (hot coast) has the least amount of rainy days of the Costas and is claimed as one of the healthiest climates in Europe.

Mazarron bay has miles of fine beaches from L’Azohia(15km) through the Puerto de Mazarron (11km) to Bolnuevo (11km) and there are some completely unspoilt beaches and coves to the south of the area.

The area is steeped in history with relics from the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Arabs underlying the Catholic Christian roots of the past six centuries.
The two large towns are Murcia and Cartagena both are historical but Cartagena has always been a Naval base and remains so.

There are marinas in Cartegena and Puerto de Mazarron.

The Sierra Espuna mountains to the north offer fine views, picnicking and walking. As well as the medieval hill town of Aledo.

All the Spanish holidays and religious festivals are celebrated at the main towns in the area.
There is a large Market in the Puerto on Sunday mornings where children’s clothes from S American traders are well worth looking at.
The surrounding towns and cities of Murcia, Lorca, Aguilas and Cartegena are all worth a visit and Grenada is just within a days travel.

Mazarron Country Club

A select development of Villas and Bungalows with a central area having pool complex (open in high season), restaurant, tennis courts and petanque rinks. In future there will be a 9 hole golf course, driving range and club house, indoor pool, commercial centre and much more. The bungalow is close to the central area yet has unobstructed views to the SW over the proposed golf course. Sit on the veranda, drink your wine and watch the sun go down!
