Reflexology
is a form of natural holistic therapy based on the discovery that there
are points on the feet and hands that correspond to specific areas
of the body. There are over 7,000 nerve endings located in the feet.
These areas or “reflexes” are accessed by using special pressure techniques.
Imbalances or blockages in the tissues, organs and systems of the body
can be detected and treated to restore balance and well-being. Reflexology
can induce a state of relaxation, counteracting the negative aspects
of stress throughout both body and mind.
1 Hour Treatment £25.00
Aromatherapy
is based on the healing properties of natural oils obtained from a variety
of plants. These essential oils act on both physical and emotional
levels to restore a sense of balance. Combined with specific massage
techniques the treatment can be tailored to an individuals therapeutic
needs to encourage the body's own healing mechanism. Many use Aromatherapy
to assist in the reduction of stress, aches and pains. The benefits
of aromatherapy are many and varied. Essential oils are selected
and blended according to the individuals requirements and therapeutic needs

Therapeutic
massage is the soothing manipulation of soft tissues to promote health
and well being. Massage is commonly used to encourage relaxation
effecting the whole body through rhythmically applied pressure with the
hands. Benefits include relieving muscular aches and pains, improving
lymph drainage, circulation and skin condition. Treatments can provide
an enormous energy boost in a gentle, controlled manner. Communication
between mind and body can be improved aiding posture and stress related
conditions, such as migraines and insomnia. Many use massage simply
for the feel of well being that it promotes.

About the Therapist
Tara originally trained in London and worked as a theatrical costume maker in two rep theatres in the midlands area. Due to a growing interest in natural health care she eventually took the plunge to retrain in complementary therapies at Broxtowe College, Nottingham. In addition to gaining ITEC diplomas in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology, she has an ITEC certificate in Nutrition and Diet. She also has trained in stress management and Reiki I. Tara usually uses the facilities of the East Leake Physiotherapy Clinic as a base for her treatments, but also works from home or mobile if the client wishes. Previously Tara has worked at Ragdale Hall as a massage therapist. Tara is a fully insured member of the Guild of Complementary Practitioners. Tara believes the main element in complementary therapies is the ‘holistic’ (meaning whole) approach, which involves looking at all the factors in an individual's life. These therapies empower people to take more responsibility of their own bodies and can work well in addition to allopathic medication.
