Teulu Siop Sarn

William and Elizabeth Thomas, Eagle House

William Thomas 1837-1885 and his wife Elizabeth Thomas (Nain Siop) 1848-1914 lived in Eagle House, Sarn Bach. They had four sons.

Left: Huw William Thomas 1879-1952 (Uncle Siop), a bachelor who kept the grocery and drapery shop, with a little help from his Brynteg nephews!

John Williams Thomas 1882-1946, married Mary Ann Jones and lived in Brynteg.

Left: Owen, married Nance of Glasfryn, Llanbedrog. Two daughters Betty and Gwyneth.

Tommy, emigrated to Petaluma, San Francisco, USA. Married with two daughters, Olwen and Dorothy

This photograph of the shop was, we think, taken during World War 2 - the Daily Post headline reads "RAF men killed in plane crash". On the steps are (l to r) Nell Evans, Uncle Hugh, Miss Roberts.

The photo to the right is of Catherine Williams of Brynbychan, Sarn Bach 1819-1906. She married Hugh Williams 1823-1905 and they had 6 children: Elizabeth (Eagle House, above), Jane (Tanybryn), Catherine (Bryngwynt), John (Caernarfon), Richard (Glanaber), Griffith (Frongaer).
