wallboard in the Vestry Hall, Church Yard, Tring.........


A LIST OF DONATIONS TO THE POOR OF TRING

MADE BY ORDER OF A VESTRY AT EASTER 1792.

 

One Annuity from the estate belonging to DRUMMOND SMITH Esq. £0.13s.4d

One Annuity from Bromley’s estate Longmarston £1.6s. 8d

Do left by Wm SMITH payable out of a House in Tring now Stephen Gibbs £1.0s.0d

Do from Shire lane FARM now Mrs JOHNSON’S  £2.0s.0d

The interest of TEN POUNDS left by MRS ATKINS to be laid out in Bread and given to the poor by the parish Officers, every EASTER SUNDAY. The principal money was paid to the Parish Officers of TRING who paid the interest.

One piece or parcel of land lately part of Tring common, containing ONE HUNDRED ACRES and which was awarded and set out by the Commissioners appointed for enclosing the open Fields and Common and waste ground in the Parish of Tring unto the Lord of the Manor of Great Tring, the Lord of the Manor of Pendley, the perpetual Curate of Tring aforesaid the CHURCHWARDENS AND OVERSEERS of the Poor of the said Parish of Tring and their successors for the time being in TRUST for the said Trustees to lay out the rent and produce thereof in FUEL to be distributed amongst the poor of the said Parish, now lett at £30 per annum.

Also one other piece or parcel of land, late part of the said Common, adjoining to the PEST HOUSE containing ONE ACRE THREE ROODS and ONE PERCH.

Also one other piece or parcel of Arable Land lately part of Goldfield, containing SEVEN ACRES THREE ROODS and FOUR PERCH, now lett to Mr JOHN CHAMBERS at NINE POUND SIXTEEN SHILLINGS per annum

and which two last pieces or parcel of land were awarded by the said Commissioners to the CHURCHWARDENS & OVERSEERS for the USE of the Poor of Tring aforesaid.

One annuity left by ELIZTH GUY payable out of the said House lately occupied by Stephen Gibbs to be given to fix poor Widows of Tring 10 each for gowns £3.0s.0d

The rent of A HOUSE in the Market street of Tring lett to Sebn Grace Blacksmith seven pounds a year which is given half yearly at Lady day Michaelmas to the poor of TRING in Bread by the Overseers.

The rent of six tenements in the Church yard of TRING now inhabited by several poor persons placed there by the Parish Officers who pay four pounds ten shillings for rent thereof & give the same to the poor of Tring in Bread on New Year’s day.

Several Houses in the Parish of TRING now occupied by poor persons, placed there by the Parish Officers Viz. three tenements adjoining together in Church Lane now inhabited by ANN ROW,  MARY WINDMILL & ELIZTH JUDGE seven tenements in Akeman Street, now inhabited by WM SMART, THOS GRANT, ELIZTH COOK, WM READ, RICHRD MUNDAY, WM FINCHER, AND DANIEL TOMPKINS, and a House & Garden at Little Tring occupied by JOSEPH DORRIFIELD.
