SKETTY YOUTH PROJECT

Christian charity serving young people in Swansea, Wales.

Funding
How is Sketty Youth Project Funded?
As a charity we rely almost entirely upon donations and grants.
Our latest donations include around £23,000 from the European Social Fund.
This money is given through the Objective One scheme.
Swansea qualifies for this as a region due to its low Gross Domestic Product (GDP) - in other words it's a relatively poor region.
This large grant will pay for a second full-time worker and also enable to expand our services.
In recent months we have received £2000 from Scottish and Southern Energy, around £4000 from the Welsh Church Act Fund and £1000 from the Barnabus Trust.
These grants will pay for a new lit sign for the front of the Goldfish Bowl and further decoration of the interior.
Last year we also recieved £5,000 from Laings Trust to renovate our new youth centre and £8,500 from ALCOA of Swansea to pay for 12 months rent.
We have a full-time Project Manager thanks to Parklands Evangelical Church, Swansea.
We are very grateful to the West Wales TEC for a recent grant of £3,500.
We have also received funding from South Wales Police, Lloyds TSB Foundation, the Barnabus Trust,
Sketty Park Community Centre, Sketty Methodist Church and Cytun Churches Together in Swansea.
Much of our work, however, is funded by individual donations.

We are currently looking for 30 people to commit to giving £10 per month to cover our ongoing costs.
