1984-Present Synthattic
Nigel.
Vocals/Synthesizers.
Synthattic was originally the name I gave to our first rehearsal space in 1984.
This was the large attic in the house belonging to then Captain of
The Boys’ Brigade, George Edward Coleman (Ted).
Dave and I originally asked if we could use the church hall to rehearse but it was decided
that it would, for a number of reasons, not be a good option.
A matter of days later, Mr.Coleman suggested we could use the attic at his home
and better still, that we could leave our equipment there.
For Mr.Coleman who was at this time in his 60’s, letting us spend the next five years
(sometimes five nights a week) making weird electronic noises (occasionally resembling
music!) in his attic is true testament to the kind, generous, thoughtful and wonderful
man he was. The support and encouragement he gave to me, even in more recent
years, will stay with me forever…
Mr.Coleman died in May 2008 at the age of 84.
"Open Your Heart"...
