How to find us |
Streatham Ice Arena is at 386 Streatham High Road (A23), SW16 6HT on the right as you head out of London. If you look on an A to Z, it's opposite Hopton Place. On a larger scale map it's easier to find as the junction of the A23 and the A214. There is limited parking around the rink and some more opposite the rink on the A23 that can be used off-peak. Other than that it's a matter of looking around the little streets off Hopton Place for somewhere to leave the Rolls.
The rink is well served with buses with the 50, 109, 118, 159, 249, 250 and P13 all stopping outside. On the other hand we are not well served by the Underground network - the tube stations are not within most people's idea of walking distance, but there is a good service on the 109 and 159 buses from Brixton to the Arena. Use London transport's journey planner to help you get here.
Streatham train station is almost next door but unfortunately is not on a very popular line. The only route running Sunday evenings is the Southern Trains London Bridge to East Croydon line. That's good news, though, if you're near Peckham Rye, East Dulwich, North Dulwich, Tulse Hill, Norbury, Thornton Heath, Selhurst or East Croydon because there's a train every half hour.
Streatham Common station is a twenty minute walk away but has a wider selection of destinations. Check out the national rail website.
The Arena runs TESSA fun skate courses which take place on Saturdays and Sundays over a six week period. The price (approx £40 for an adult) includes skate hire, a half hour's tuition in small groups by truly expert skaters and admission to the following public session. Ring the box office 020 8769 7771 now to confirm prices and course dates.
John's skate shop is at the rink's entrance, and there is a snack bar at the rink side.
