Slough Ice Arena, Montem Lane, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2QG. Tel: 01753 821555. Slough is probably the easiest away rink to find. You should do it in just a little less than an hour from Streatham.

Get onto the M4 and at Junction 6 turn right into Slough on the A355. Go straight over the first roundabout (half a mile along) then you'll find a major junction within a few hundred yards. Get into the right hand lane, take the right turn and stay out on the right because you're taking the first right again (about another hundred yards - there's a filter lane and traffic lights). The rink is on your right and there's a huge, free car park for you just beyond it.

Peckish afterwards? Back at the junction where you turned off the A355 there's a parade of shops with a pizza place and a kebab shop. Let me know if you find somewhere better.
