Information for games at Lee Valley
Lee Valley Ice Centre, Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, London, E10 7QL. 01992 702200.
Getting to Lee Valley, like anywhere in London, is a bit of a lottery. It can be done in 40 minutes from Streatham if the traffic's being kind, but it would be wise to allow more than an hour.

If the Blackwall tunnel is open, that's the best way. Follow the A12 on the North side to the A106 turning for Dalston, Hackney and Clapton (which comes just after you've passed a big yellow storage warehouse on the right). Keep in the outside lane on the slip road, bear to the right at the first junction and turn right at the next traffic lights (Kenworthy Road). At the end of Kenworthy Road turn left with the main flow of traffic into Homerton High Street. The fourth turning on the right, just after the library, is Brooksby's Walk, which continues as Chatsworth Road. Drive along there to the end, turn right at the traffic lights into Lea Bridge Road. The ice rink is on the left just the other side of the bridge over the canal (not the very first turning or you'll end up in some industrial site). There's plenty of free parking at the rink.

Peckish? There's a cafe inside the rink but you can be sure it will be closed if you want anything. I'm always impressed by the way their vending machine actually work, which is some compensation. If you go back the way I've suggested you come, you'll find lots of cheap, fast food outlets in Chatsworth Road.
